A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in MIT Kerberos 5 up to 1.18.3/1.19.1 (Network Authentication Software). Affected is the function ec_verify of the file kdc/kdc_preauth_ec.c of the component Key Distribution Center Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit.
