A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in node-tar up to 3.2.1/3.3.1/4.4.13/5.0.5/6.1.0 on npm (NPM Package). This affects some unknown functionality of the file Creation/Overwrite of the component File Creation Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that should be within a restricted directory, but it does not properly neutralize sequences such as ".." that can resolve to a location that is outside of that directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
