Cross-site scripting vulnerability for Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0, 5.0 and 5.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary script as other web users via the error message used in a URL redirect (""302 Object Moved") message.

The bug was discovered 04/10/2002. The weakness was released 04/10/2002 by Keigo Yamazaki with Microsoft as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). It is possible to read the advisory at kb.cert.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2002-0075. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

After immediately, there has been an exploit disclosed. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 10564 (Microsoft IIS HTTP Redirect Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability (MS02-018)).
