A vulnerability was found in Xoops 1.0 Rc1 (Content Management System) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the file userinfo.php. The manipulation of the argument uid with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. userinfo.php in XOOPS 1.0 RC1 allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via a SQL injection attack in the "uid" parameter.

The weakness was disclosed 05/16/2002 with isec (Website). The advisory is available at iss.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2002-0216. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
