A vulnerability has been found in WebTrends Reporting Center 4.0d (Reporting Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code in the library WTX_REMOTE.DLL of the file WTRS_UI.EXE of the component GET Request Handler. Buffer overflow in WTRS_UI.EXE (WTX_REMOTE.DLL) for WebTrends Reporting Center 4.0d allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long HTTP GET request to the /reports/ directory.
The bug was discovered 04/17/2002. The weakness was shared 06/18/2002 by Mark Litchfield with NGSSoftware as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at archives.neohapsis.com.
