A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Microsoft Visual Studio up to 2017 15.9/2019 16.11 (Programming Tool Software). Affected by this issue is the function signature_algorithms. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. Impacted is availability.
