Affected by this issue is an unknown code in the library webplus.dll of the file webplus.exe of the component WML File Name HAndler. Buffer overflow in Talentsoft Web+ 5.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long Web Markup Language (wml) file name to (1) webplus.dll or (2) webplus.exe.

The bug was discovered 03/13/2002. The weakness was published 07/26/2002 by NGSSoftware Insight Security Research with NGSSoftware Insight Security Research as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at cert.uni-stuttgart.de. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2002-0450. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
