A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (Wireless LAN Software) (the affected version unknown). This issue affects an unknown part of the component LWAPP Encryption. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a missing encryption vulnerability. Cisco 1200, 1131, and 1240 series Access Points, when operating in Lightweight Access Point Protocol (LWAPP) mode and controlled by 2000 and 4400 series Airespace WLAN controllers running 3.1.59.24, allow remote attackers to send unencrypted traffic to a secure network using frames with the MAC address of an authenticated end host.
The weakness was published 11/03/2005 with Cisco (Website). The advisory is shared at cisco.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-3482 since 11/03/2005. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
