Details
A vulnerability was found in Jackalope Doctrine-DBAL up to 1.7.3. It has been rated as critical. This issue affects the function XPath::escape of the file Jackalope\Transport\DoctrineDBAL\Query\QOMWalker. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was released 12/14/2021 as GHSA-ph98-v78f-jqrm. The advisory is shared at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2021-43822 since 11/16/2021. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
Upgrading to version 1.7.4 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 9d179a36d320330ddb303ea3a7c98d3a33d231db is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
