Thomas Hauck Jana Server 2.x through 2.2.1, and 1.4.6 and earlier, generates different responses for valid and invalid usernames, which allows remote attackers to identify valid users on the server.

The bug was discovered 07/26/2002. The weakness was disclosed 10/04/2002 by 3APA3A as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at archives.neohapsis.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2002-1064. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
