The VerifyLogin function in ezContents 1.41 and earlier does not properly halt program execution if a user fails to log in properly, which allows remote attackers to modify and view restricted information via HTTP POST requests.

The bug was discovered 07/25/2002. The weakness was released 10/04/2002 by Ulf Harnhammar (Website). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2002-1084. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
