Buffer overflow in the Web management interface in Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless access point router 2 and BEFSR11, BEFSR41, and BEFSRU31 EtherFast Cable/DSL routers with firmware before 1.43.3 with remote management enabled allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (router crash) via a long password.
The weakness was published 11/20/2002 by Alex (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2002-1312 since 11/18/2002. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
