A vulnerability has been found in SquirrelMail 1.2.8 (Mail Client Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function strip_tags. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. An incomplete fix for a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in SquirrelMail 1.2.8 calls the strip_tags function on the PHP_SELF value but does not save the result back to that variable, leaving it open to cross-site scripting attacks.
