A vulnerability was found in LibTIFF up to 4.3.0 (Image Processing Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function TIFFFetchNormalTag of the file tif_dirread.c of the component TIFF File Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. Impacted is availability.
