A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Pinboard 1.0 (Forum Software). Affected is an unknown code block of the component Tasklist Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Pinboard 1.0 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via tasklists.
The bug was discovered 06/10/2002. The weakness was disclosed 12/31/2002 (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2002-1900 since 06/29/2005. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
