A vulnerability was found in Datawizard FtpXQ 2.5 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the component MKD Command Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Buffer overflow in FtpXQ 2.5 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a MKD command with a long directory name.
The weakness was disclosed 12/31/2002 by Eric Sesterhenn (Website). The advisory is available at online.securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2002-1920 since 06/29/2005.
