A vulnerability was found in String locator Plugin up to 2.4.x on WordPress (WordPress Plugin) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the component Search Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality.
The weakness was presented 03/28/2022 as 2685592. The advisory is shared for download at wpscan.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2022-0493 since 02/04/2022.
