Perception LiteServe 2.0 through 2.0.1 allows remote attackers to obtain the source code of CGI scripts via an HTTP request with a trailing dot (".").
The bug was discovered 11/14/2002. The weakness was presented 12/31/2002 by mattmurphy (Website). The advisory is shared for download at iss.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2002-1986 since 06/29/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
