Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in SquirrelMail up to 1.2.5 (Mail Client Software). Affected is some unknown functionality of the component magicHTML. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a html injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. This is going to have an impact on integrity. CVE summarizes:
Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in magicHTML of SquirrelMail before 1.2.6 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via (1) "<<script" in unspecified input fields or (2) a javascript: URL in the src attribute of an IMG tag.
