phpSquidPass before 0.2 uses an incomplete regular expression to find a matching username in its database, which allows remote authenticated attackers to effectively delete other usernames via a short username that matches the end of the targeted username.

The weakness was disclosed 12/31/2002 by ppp-design as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at marc.theaimsgroup.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2002-2175 since 11/16/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
