Affected by this issue is the function Kernel#Float/String#to_f of the component String-to-Float Conversion. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a buffer overflow vulnerability. The product copies an input buffer to an output buffer without verifying that the size of the input buffer is less than the size of the output buffer, leading to a buffer overflow.
