soinfo.php in BadBlue 1.7.1 calls the phpinfo function, which allows remote attackers to gain sensitive information including ODBC passwords.
The weakness was released 12/31/2002 by Matthew Murphy (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at derkeiler.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2002-2289 since 10/17/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
