Netgear FM114P firmware 1.3 wireless firewall, when configured to backup configuration information, stores DDNS (DynDNS) user name and password, MAC address filtering table and possibly other information in cleartext, which could allow local users to obtain sensitive information.
The weakness was disclosed 12/31/2002 by Marc Ruef (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2002-2355 since 10/29/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
