A vulnerability was found in mime-support up to 3.21 and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown function of the file run-mailcap of the component Temp File Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a symlink vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-61. The product, when opening a file or directory, does not sufficiently account for when the file is a symbolic link that resolves to a target outside of the intended control sphere.
