Details
A vulnerability was found in Vignette Content Suite 4.0/5.0/6.0/7.0. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component Default Login Template. The manipulation of the argument errInfo with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect integrity. CVE summarizes:
Multiple Cross Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Vignette StoryServer 4 and 5, and Vignette V/5 and V/6, allow remote attackers to insert arbitrary HTML and script via text variables, as demonstrated using the errInfo parameter of the default login template.
