Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Google Go up to 1.17.11/1.18.3 (Programming Language Software). This affects an unknown code block of the component net-http. The manipulation of the argument Transfer-Encoding with an unknown input leads to a request smuggling vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-444. The product acts as an intermediary HTTP agent
(such as a proxy or firewall) in the data flow between two
entities such as a client and server, but it does not
interpret malformed HTTP requests or responses in ways that
are consistent with how the messages will be processed by
those entities that are at the ultimate destination. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Acceptance of some invalid Transfer-Encoding headers in the HTTP/1 client in net/http before Go 1.17.12 and Go 1.18.4 allows HTTP request smuggling if combined with an intermediate server that also improperly fails to reject the header as invalid.
The weakness was disclosed 08/11/2022. It is possible to read the advisory at go.dev. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2022-1705 since 05/13/2022. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
