A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Google Go up to 1.17.11/1.18.3 (Programming Language Software). Affected is the function Decoder.Skip of the component XML Document Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a recursion vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-674. Uncontrolled recursion in Decoder.Skip in encoding/xml before Go 1.17.12 and Go 1.18.4 allows an attacker to cause a panic due to stack exhaustion via a deeply nested XML document.
