A vulnerability has been found in Microsoft ISA Server (Firewall Software) (the affected version unknown) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown part of the file 400.htm/500.htm of the component Error Page. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script via a URL containing the script in the domain name portion, which is not properly cleansed in the default error pages (1) 500.htm for "500 Internal Server error" or (2) 404.htm for "404 Not Found."
