A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Eurosoft Bootloader up to 2022-06-01. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the component Secure Boot. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a access control vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-284. A flaw was found in Eurosoft bootloaders before 2022-06-01. An attacker may use this bootloader to bypass or tamper with Secure Boot protections. In order to load and execute arbitrary code in the pre-boot stage, an attacker simply needs to replace the existing signed bootloader currently in use with this bootloader. Access to the EFI System Partition is required for booting using external media.
The weakness was released 08/27/2022. The advisory is shared for download at edk2-docs.gitbook.io. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2022-34303 since 06/22/2022. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem.
