A vulnerability was found in Fribidi (affected version not known). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is the function fribidi_remove_bidi_marks in the library lib/fribidi.c of the component File Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. A segmentation fault (SEGV) flaw was found in the Fribidi package and affects the fribidi_remove_bidi_marks() function of the lib/fribidi.c file. This flaw allows an attacker to pass a specially crafted file to Fribidi, leading to a crash and causing a denial of service.
The weakness was shared 09/07/2022 as 183. The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2022-25310 since 02/17/2022. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
