A vulnerability has been found in gophish up to 0.11.x and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown part of the component Next Query Parameter Handler. A web application accepts a user-controlled input that specifies a link to an external site, and uses that link in a Redirect. This simplifies phishing attacks. This affects the package github.com/gophish/gophish before 0.12.0. The Open Redirect vulnerability exists in the next query parameter. The application uses url.Parse(r.FormValue("next")) to extract path and eventually redirect user to a relative URL, but if next parameter starts with multiple backslashes like \\\\\\example.com, browser will redirect user to http://example.com.
The weakness was shared 09/12/2022. The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2022-25295 since 02/16/2022. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
