A vulnerability was found in phpWebSite 0.9.0 (Content Management System). It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown function. The manipulation of the argument day/fatcat_id/PAGE_ID/PDA_limit with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in phpWebSite 0.9.x and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary web script via (1) the day parameter in the calendar module, (2) the fatcat_id parameter in the fatcat module, (3) the PAGE_id parameter in the pagemaster module, (4) the PDA_limit parameter in the search, and (5) possibly other parameters in the calendar, fatcat, and pagemaster modules.
The weakness was presented 10/20/2003 by Lorenzo Hernandez Garcia-Hierro as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is shared for download at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2003-0736 since 09/03/2003. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.
