A vulnerability was found in OpenAutoClassifieds 1.0. It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the file friendmail.php. The manipulation of the argument listing with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in friendmail.php in OpenAutoClassifieds 1.0 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the listing parameter.
The bug was discovered 11/03/2003. The weakness was disclosed 11/04/2003 by David Sopas Ferreira as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2003-1145 since 05/04/2005. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

By approaching the search of inurl:friendmail.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 11449 (OpenAutoClassifieds Listing Parameter Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability).
