A vulnerability was found in Rocket.Chat up to 4.7.4 (Chat Software). It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is the function Users.find of the component REST Endpoint. An information disclosure vulnerability exists in Rocket.Chat <v4.7.5 which allowed the "users.list" REST endpoint gets a query parameter from JSON and runs Users.find(queryFromClientSide). This means virtually any authenticated user can access any data (except password hashes) of any user authenticated.
The weakness was disclosed 09/24/2022. The advisory is shared for download at hackerone.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2022-32219 since 06/01/2022. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.
