A list management bug in BSS handling in the mac80211 stack in the Linux kernel 5.1 through 5.19.14 could be used by local attackers (able to inject WLAN frames) to corrupt a linked list and, in turn, potentially execute code.
The weakness was disclosed 10/14/2022. The advisory is shared at git.kernel.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2022-42721 since 10/10/2022. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1055 for this issue.
