A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in osCommerce 2.2 Ms2 (E-Commerce Management Software). Affected by this issue is the function tep_href_link of the file html_output.php. The manipulation of the argument osCsid with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the tep_href_link function in html_output.php for osCommerce before 2.2-MS3 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the osCsid parameter.

The weakness was disclosed 12/31/2003 with Gulftech (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2003-1219 since 08/04/2005.
