A vulnerability was found in Pablo Baby FTP Server up to 1.1 (File Transfer Software). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in Baby FTP Server 1.2, and possibly other versions before May 31, 2003 allows remote authenticated users to list arbitrary directories and possibly read files via "..." (triple dot) manipulations to the CWD command.
The weakness was published 05/30/2003 by Dr_insane (Website). The advisory is available at pablosoftwaresolutions.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2003-1299 since 03/24/2006.
