A vulnerability has been found in eNdonesia 8.2 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file mod.php of the component Error Message Handler. mod.php in eNdonesia 8.2 allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via a (quote) value in the lng parameter, which reveals the path in an error message. NOTE: The provenance of this information is unknown; the details are obtained solely from third party information.
The bug was discovered . The weakness was shared 08/27/2003 by Bahaa Naamneh (Website). The advisory is shared for download at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability was named CVE-2003-1316 since 01/04/2007. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 12291 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. The real existence of this vulnerability is still doubted at the moment. By approaching the search of inurl:mod.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 11394 (eNdonesia Mod Parameter Path Disclosure Vulnerability).
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
