A vulnerability was found in Thomas Krebs NiteServer FTPd 1.83 (File Transfer Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the component cd Command Handler. The manipulation with the input value \.. leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Directory traversal vulnerability in NITE ftp-server (NiteServer) 1.83 allows remote attackers to list arbitrary directories via a "\.." (backslash dot dot) in the CD (CWD) command.
