Buffer overflow in KaZaA Media Desktop 2.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a response to the ad server.
The weakness was released 02/03/2003 by Marc Ruef with scip AG (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. The public release happened without coordination with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2003-1395 since 10/18/2007. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely.
