A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Dotbr Botbr 0.1. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the file foo.php3. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability (phpinfo). Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-20. The product receives input or data, but it does
not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the
properties that are required to process the data safely and
correctly. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
foo.php3 in DotBr 0.1 allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via a direct request, which calls the phpinfo function.
The weakness was presented 02/15/2003 by Frog Man (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at archives.neohapsis.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2003-1403 since 10/19/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a exploit are known.
After immediately, there has been an exploit disclosed. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 11082 (DotBr PHPInfo Environment Information Disclosure Vulnerability).
