Petitforum stores the liste.txt data file under the web document root with insufficient access control, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information such as e-mail addresses and encrypted passwords.

The weakness was disclosed 12/31/2003 (Website). The advisory is available at securitytracker.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2003-1423 since 10/19/2007. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
