BEA WebLogic Express and WebLogic Server 7.0 and 7.0.0.1, stores passwords in plaintext when a keystore is used to store a private key or trust certificate authorities, which allows local users to gain access.

The bug was discovered 01/28/2003. The weakness was released 12/31/2003 by BEA Systems with BEA Systems (Website). The advisory is shared for download at dev.bea.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2003-1437 since 10/22/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally.
