A vulnerability was found in phpBB 2.0.3 (Forum Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown function of the file privmsg.php. The manipulation of the argument mark[] with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. SQL injection vulnerability in privmsg.php in phpBB 2.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the mark[] parameter.
The weakness was shared 01/17/2003 by Ulf Harnhammar as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2003-1530 since 11/08/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
