A vulnerability was found in Xoops 2.0 (Content Management System). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component Error Message Handler. The manipulation of the argument xoopsOption with an unknown input leads to a information disclosure vulnerability (Path). The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-200. XOOPS 2.0, and possibly earlier versions, allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via an invalid xoopsOption parameter, which reveals the installation path in an error message.
The weakness was shared 12/31/2003 by Gregory Le Bras (Website). The advisory is available at marc.info. This vulnerability was named CVE-2003-1550 since 03/05/2008. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1592 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
