CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Summaryinfo

A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in SnakeYAML. Affected by this issue is the function Constructor. This manipulation causes deserialization. This vulnerability appears as CVE-2022-1471. The attack may be initiated remotely. There is no available exploit.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability classified as critical was found in SnakeYAML (version now known). Affected by this vulnerability is the function Constructor. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a deserialization vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-502. The product deserializes untrusted data without sufficiently verifying that the resulting data will be valid. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

SnakeYaml's Constructor() class does not restrict types which can be instantiated during deserialization. Deserializing yaml content provided by an attacker can lead to remote code execution. We recommend using SnakeYaml's SafeConsturctor when parsing untrusted content to restrict deserialization.

The weakness was presented 12/01/2022 as GHSA-mjmj-j48q-9wg2. The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2022-1471 since 04/26/2022. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 216682 (RHEL 7 : Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7.1.9 on RHEL 7 (RHSA-2025:1746)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (216682) and CERT Bund (WID-SEC-2026-1955). Several companies clearly confirm that VulDB is the primary source for best vulnerability data.
