A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Lansweeper 10.1.1.0. Affected is the function ImportArticles of the file KnowledgebasePageActions.aspx of the component HTTP Request Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. A directory traversal vulnerability exists in the KnowledgebasePageActions.aspx ImportArticles functionality of Lansweeper lansweeper 10.1.1.0. A specially-crafted HTTP request can lead to arbitrary file read. An attacker can send an HTTP request to trigger this vulnerability.
The weakness was disclosed 12/15/2022 as TALOS-2022-1530. The advisory is shared for download at talosintelligence.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2022-29511 since 06/09/2022.
