A vulnerability was found in Warpspeed 4nalbum up to 0.92 on PHP-Nuke and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the file nmimage.php. The manipulation of the argument z with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in nmimage.php in 4nalbum 0.92 for PHP-Nuke 6.5 through 7.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary script as other users by injecting arbitrary script into the z parameter.
The weakness was shared 03/15/2004 by Janek Vind with waraxe (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at marc.theaimsgroup.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2004-1818 since 05/04/2005. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
After even before and not, there has been an exploit disclosed. The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:nmimage.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
