A vulnerability has been found in Gijza.net Error Manager 2.1 on PHP-Nuke and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the file error.php. The manipulation of the argument pagetitle/error with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in error.php in Gijza.net Error Manager 2.1 for PHP-Nuke 6.0 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) pagetitle or (2) error parameters, or (3) certain parameters in the error log.
The weakness was disclosed 03/18/2004 by Janek Vind with waraxe (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at marc.theaimsgroup.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2004-1829 since 05/04/2005. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
After immediately, there has been an exploit disclosed. It is possible to download the exploit at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:error.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
