A vulnerability was found in Squid Web Proxy up to 4.17/5.6 (Firewall Software). It has been declared as problematic. An issue was discovered in Squid 4.9 through 4.17 and 5.0.6 through 5.6. Due to inconsistent handling of internal URIs, there can be Exposure of Sensitive Information about clients using the proxy via an HTTPS request to an internal cache manager URL. This is fixed in 5.7.

The weakness was released 12/26/2022 as GHSA-rcg9-7fqm-83mq. The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2022-41317 since 09/23/2022. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
